The internet browser is probably the one piece of software that anyone who uses the World Wide Web will use the most. With the availability of several different types of internet browsers, it may be hard for you to choose one. Shopping around for the right browser that will best suit your needs is a must, especially since you can download them for free.
Trying to determine which internet browser that you want to use can prove to be a tough task as each browser tends to offer different features and can do different things. The browser that you choose to use will depend on how you use the web, and the browser that is chosen will shape the way that you use it.
Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) has finally incorporated the use of tabbed browsing, borrowing the idea from competitors such as Mozilla (makers of Firefox). IE7 has also integrated the RSS feeder into the new browser; however, IE7 has come under some scrutiny for not being \"ready for the masses\" when compared to the other internet browsers that are available on today\\\'s market. IE7 has come a long way and has definitely been improved, but it still has a way to go to keep up with some of its competition.
Opera 8.0 was the first internet browser in its class to offer some very unique features. Even though Opera hasn\'t been in the limelight, they are beginning to be able to provide some competition to the other web browser companies such as Microsoft and Mozilla. Opera provides features that are unique and can organize information that the user can keep at their fingertips. The drag and drop tabs feature is something that no other browser offers to its user. Opera offers speed and security, as well. They have a pop-up blocker that actually works.
Google Chrome takes browsing to a completely new level with its - \'one box for everything\' - basically it suggest websites and other any related queries as you begin to type. It also drops down to display your recent history. The same box also has a one click bookmark.
In a very short period of time, Firefox has climbed the ladder to become the second-most popular internet browser in the world. They are definitely giving IE7 a run for their money. Firefox 1.5 also offers the drag and drop feature of tabbed browsing. Considering that this is only the first upgrade of the browser (from 1.0 to 1.5) Firefox is definitely ahead of its class. There are a few problems with new downloads of updates, the system tends to leave some of the old files behind which can prove to be a problem with browser stability and compatibility.
Even though IE7 commands approximately 80% of the internet browser market, they still have tough competition from Firefox. Definitely do not rule out Opera because in the near future, they too could begin to see an increase in their users. IE7 comes bundled with new PCs. This helps them to command so much of the market; however, with the availability of free downloads, users can switch at any time that they may wish. Firefox, Chrome and Opera offer some advanced features that IE7 doesn\'t. Also IE7 requires more MBs than Firefox or Opera. Microsoft needs to get in the game or they could slip and let some of their command of the internet browsing market be taken over by the more advanced competitors.
